2nd Peter

Thank you for clicking on our page for the Petrine epistle which is called 2nd Peter, the letter is authored by the apostle Peter as a general epistle to an unnamed group of believers. The book of 2nd Peter is a letter of encouragement and a call to confirm your calling and election and speaks of Christ’s glory and the prophetic word. It is also a warning against false teachers and a declaration that the day of the Lord will come. This is just one page based on one individual epistle (or letter) and for other bible studies on other epistles please see our main epistle page.

The letter is broken down as follows:

Greeting (2 Peter 1:1–2)
Exhortation to Christian Virtue (2 Peter 1:3–21)
Condemnation of the False Teachers (2 Peter 2:1–22)
The Delay of the Second Coming (2 Peter 3:1–16)
Final Exhortation and Doxology (2 Peter 3:17–18)

Topical studies
The millennium day – 2nd Peter 3:8-9 – August 4th 2014

When the writers of the bible separated the books into chapters and verses to help indexing and finding verses, this book was split into 3 chapters, in many cases new chapters do not contain new thoughts and you will see bible studies cross over chapter lines.
